Rolex released a new edition of the sporty Air-King in 2022 under reference 126900. Much to the delight of even the most die-hard Rolex enthusiasts, the new Air-King now has its own case with newly-added crown guards and uses the next-generation caliber 3230 time-only movement. It also keeps the same Bloodhound-inspired dial that defined the modern Air-King in 2016 alongside its predecessor ref. 116900 with similar Arabic hour markers, centrally-mounted Mercedes hands, and a vibrant green and gold Rolex logo. The silvered Arabic hour markers seen on reference 116900 were replaced with sportier Chromalight Arabic markers, and a zero was added to the 5-hour marker. Lastly, the bracelet received Rolex's iconic Oysterlock safety clasp. Although seemingly small, these changes are typical of Rolex as the company continues its quest to perfect every aspect of the Rolex Air-King. There is no need to join a long waitlist.
