The bezel insert is a later service replacement. Inner caseback is stamped: 1675. Serial and reference numbers are crisp and well defined. Acrylic crystal shows light wear with some scratches. |

This Rolex watch is in vintage condition with wear consistent with age as seen in pictures. The watch is in overall excellent condition with some wear to the case and bracelet. The case has been polished and has some scratches. The bezel and bracelet are later replacements. The lume on the dial has aged to a lovely ivory color and the hands have been color corrected to match.

The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It’s one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it’s instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. Rolex initially used glossy dials in the 1675 until around 1966 and switched to matte dials.
This circa 1970 example is in overall beautiful condition. This watch has a classic "Pepsi" GMT vibe with its iconic "Pepsi" bezel and nicely aged lume. Collectors refer to this dial variation as a Mark I "Long E." When looking at the "Rolex" text on the dial the "E" has a longer central bar (same length as the top and bottom ones) and that is where the nickname comes from.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
